Dr. Rosina Ahmed

Dr Rosina Ahmed completed her undergraduate education in Medical College, Calcutta, and spent a period in basic surgical training in that institution. She then went to England where she initially worked in Bristol, and obtained the FRCS (England) in 1991.

She continued higher surgical training in the Newcastle and Sheffield regions, gaining a research degree (MD, Sheffield, 1999) and then the FRCS (General Surgery) intercollegiate qualification in 2000. She obtained the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in surgery in 2001, then moved back to India to work as a surgeon.

She initially worked at Westbank Hospital and later at other hospitals including Columbia Asia, where she initiated establishment of a breast clinic. She moved to Tata Medical Centre in September 2011.

Her current interests include treatment of younger women with breast cancer, and broadening awareness and education about breast cancer.
